Project Description/Overview
The initial scope of this project would add rail capacity to the existing two-track lift bridge over the Cerritos Channel linking Terminal Island to the Alameda Corridor.

Based on the reduction in container traffic, the emphasis has been shifted to improving the seismic resistance capability of this important rail link. Items under review include lowering the towers and counterweights to match the fixed span clearance of the new Schuyler Heim Bridge and upgrading the load resistance capability of the current foundation system.
